The updated Block Editor represents a major evolution of the original rich content field type, with significant usability and capability upgrades delivered in late 2025. dotCMS reworked the editor to use the latest stable version of Tiptap, moved key UI elements to official Tiptap extensions, improved formatting menus, refined drag-and-drop behavior, and added robust Markdown copy-to/paste support—so content creators can bring structured content in and out of the editor more naturally.

This update also delivered a smoother, more predictable interface with polished controls, better keyboard navigation, and a cleaner menu experience overall.
