dotCMS 2026 Product Webinar | Roadmap & Showcase

In under an hour, the dotCMS product team walked through what's shipping now, what's coming in 2026, and where visual editing is headed next. The webinar splits cleanly into three buckets — Now, Next, and Future — with infrastructure and cloud updates to close. If you manage content at a compliance-led organization, or you're evaluating headless CMS platforms, this is the fastest way to see what's new.

The 2026 roadmap in 60 seconds

VP of Product, Freddy Montes, frames the year around three pillars: making content authoring faster and more intuitive, making AI deliver real results for content operations, and keeping the platform rock-solid as you scale. Q1 is foundational UI and API work. Q2 is where AI becomes a real differentiator. Q3 is content operations and enterprise-grade infrastructure. Q4 closes the loop with analytics that prove content ROI.

Now — what's shipping today

The new Shopify Connector, demoed by Jamie Mauro, plugs Shopify products and collections into dotCMS content in minutes — traditional or headless.

The Universal Visual Editor Content Palette has been redesigned: the panel is now on the left, content types are filtered to only what the page can actually accept, widgets are separated from content, and content authors can pin favourites.

The Content Style Editor lets content teams adjust typography, layouts, colors, and responsive behavior inside brand-defined guardrails set by developers. No CSS required.

Next — what's coming in 2026

Content Drive moves to production-ready this quarter. It's a unified workspace for folders, files, and content — drag-and-drop organization, instant asset previews, and filters across content types and languages.

A redesigned Edit Content screen replaces the cramped dialogue with a full-page, drag-and-drop experience with version history and collaboration comments.

Multi-provider AI support arrives in Q2. Connect OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex, Azure, or your enterprise-approved model. Pair it with brand voice governance and built-in compliance checkers for WCAG, GDPR, HIPAA, and FINRA/SEC, and AI output stays on-brand and on-policy.

dotCMS Analytics brings page views, engagement, and conversion attribution inside the platform. Track downloads, form submits, and add-to-cart events, and attribute them back to the content that drove them.

Future — where visual editing is headed

Freddy closes with a prototype of where the Universal Visual Editor is heading: a unified workspace with layers and zoom, in-context editing, an AI mode where you prompt to create page variants, personalize, or optimize for SEO, and a dev view that exposes component code alongside the page.

Cloud & Evergreen

Steve Freudenthaler closes with infrastructure updates: zero-downtime seamless upgrades are now live for production, multi-region resiliency fails over automatically in under a minute when an AWS region goes down, and a new US West region meets data sovereignty requirements.
