dotCMS is a cloud-based Digital Experience platform that is changing the way enterprises do digital. dotCMS software powers sites, intranets and content for many large global customers including financial institutions, global brands, and public universities among others. We are currently seeking a Java Product Support Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in development and delivery of regular patch releases, including:
    • Develop new fixes
    • Backport existing fixes
    • Build and upload releases
    • Improve patch release CI/CD processes
  • Provides remote technical support for dotCMS software products and services, including:
    • Respond with technical and creative solutions to client problems
    • Interact directly with clients and internal staff via support ticketing system, real-time messaging channels, and scheduled phone and video meetings
  • Resolves technical issues and requests about the product and implementations,
    including:
    • Research and reproduce issues
    • Debug Java code
    • Collaborate with other developers
    • Submit bug reports and enhancement requests
    • Inspect customer code
    • Develop code examples
    • Provide feedback to R&D, documentation, and customer success on issues and resolutions
  • Takes part in rotating pagerduty shifts to provide off-hours support for critical customer issues
  • Participates in regular and ad-hoc internal meetings and communications
  • Contributes to other support-related technical and development projects as requested

Requirements:

  • 5+ years Java development experience; full-stack preferred
  • 2+ years experience with web technologies including HTML and CSS; SCSS a plus
  • Proven and demonstrable analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently
  • Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in technical field

Additional desirable characteristics:

  • 2+ years database experience; PostgreSQL preferred
  • 2+ years experience with Linux; Windows experience a plus
  • Familiar with security standards and procedures; SOC 2 experience a plus
  • Able and willing to travel occasionally (up to 10%)
  • Experience using or administering cloud hosted environments - especially AWS
  • Experience with github or other Version Control Systems such as CVS, SVN, git, or Perforce
  • Experience integrating SSO frameworks such as SAML, Oauth, or LDAP
  • Experience developing with Javascript and JS libraries and frameworks such as Angular, React, and Next.js (edited)
